As a tenant-led entity independent of property management and ownership, our purpose is to promote the common interests of our fellow residents.

Our eight member board is made up of a diverse group of residents all working towards common goals.

The Gantry At Union Market District Tenants Association (GTA) is dedicated to advocating for tenants, fostering community engagement, and ensuring a thriving living and working environment in Washington, DC.

About Our Association

We represent and support the tenants of Union Market District, Washington, DC, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are addressed. Our mission is to build a strong, connected, and informed community through advocacy, communication, and collaboration.

What we do

  • Ensure that property management and ownership is meeting all requirements of our memorandum of understanding.
  • Share information to help our residents understand their rights by partnering with DC Office of the Tenant Advocate.
  • Share important news and updates on what is happening on the property on our website and on social media including X(Twitter) and Facebook.
  • Build relationships with outside organizations and government leaders such as Eckington Civic Association , our ANC and our Councilmember to help promote the interests of our residents.

DC Tenants Rights Center

The D.C. Tenants’ Rights Center is a lower-cost law firm providing  high-quality legal services to D.C. tenants.

DC Bar Pro Bono Center - Housing Legal Assistance

The Landlord Tenant Resource Center provides free legal information to both unrepresented landlords and tenants who have residential housing disputes in the District of Columbia.

Volunteers are the heart of a community. Our volunteers are a valuable resource for our fast-growing, fast-paced city.

Assisting departments with daily activities, such as shelving library books, filing records or using GIS equipment.
